Your breath is composed of complex substances with variable odors that can generate unpleasant situations such as halitosis that affects more than 50% of general population[iii]. The odor is caused by the presence of bacteria in the mouth, tooth decay, presence of waste materials, leftover food particles and etc. Numerous causes can contribute to halitosis and induce this bad breath that is difficult to eliminate. As we said before, bad breath can be a sign that things are really wrong in your body. It can mean, for example, that your kidneys are failing. Your kidneys are supposed to filter waste out of your blood, but if they aren’t working properly, it can build up. This can make your breath smell like ammonia, fish, or even urine.
Chewing on herbs such as parsley and mint can also help freshen breath. These herbs contain natural compounds that can neutralize odors and provide a refreshing scent.
But your tonsils don’t always do their job well. For some people, they’re more trouble than help. Research suggests that people who have their tonsils removed are no more likely to get bacterial or viral infections than people with who keep their tonsils.
Certain strains of probiotics, such as Streptococcus salivarius K12 and Lactobacillus salivarius, have been shown to reduce the levels of harmful bacteria in the mouth and improve breath odor. These probiotics can be found in certain oral health products, such as lozenges or mouthwashes.
My experience from start to finish was phenomenal. An extremely friendly and helpful scheduler allowed me make an... appointment that fit my schedule and got me started on new patient registration. Upon arriving, I got checked in by the most polite receptionist (even though the staff was on their lunch, she was still helping customers so that no one was waiting longer than they needed to). The hygienist did a thorough cleaning and really took her time. Everyone here was warm and welcoming. Definitely recommend!read more

The important thing to understand about mouthwash is that you must avoid those containing alcohol. It does not kill bacteria in the mouth, and actually worsens the situation by drying out the mouth.
In addition to good oral hygiene, there are other steps you can take to prevent bad breath. Drinking plenty of water throughout the day can help prevent dry mouth. Avoiding foods that can cause bad breath, such as garlic and onions, can also help keep your breath fresh. Quitting smoking and tobacco use is another important step in improving oral health and breath.
Essential oils, such as tea tree oil or peppermint oil, can be used as a mouthwash or added to water for gargling. These oils have antimicrobial properties that can help kill bacteria and reduce bad breath.
You can tell you have tonsil stones if you can see the white deposits trapped in the crevices of your tonsils. Other times, you might notice them when they come out, “appearing” suddenly in your throat or mouth. They are usually white and can be soft and/or gritty.
